About Tanuj Tyagi

I'm a Senior Solution Architect at Redis, working pre-sales across India and South East Asia. My job is the technical half of the buying decision: understanding what a team is actually trying to build, whether Redis is the right answer, and what it looks like at their scale rather than in a benchmark blog post. In my first two years I helped win around 100 new customers across the two regions.

In practice that means discovery calls, architecture reviews, cluster sizing, competitive deep-dives, and a lot of proofs of concept. The POC is the part I care most about, because a working prototype on the customer's own data settles arguments that no slide ever will.

The product surface I cover runs from core data structures and the query engine through RDI, and increasingly into the AI side: LangCache, agentic memory, context retrieval. On the deployment side I've architected Redis on bare metal, VMs and Kubernetes, in private clouds and on AWS, GCP and Azure. Which one is right depends on constraints most vendors would rather not discuss.

Across dozens of engagements the verticals have concentrated: telecom, learning platforms, e-commerce and quick commerce, travel, media, and fintech. Two of those I didn't learn from the outside. I spent years building telecom BSS at Amdocs and a learning platform at Saba before I ever sold into either.

That's the long way round to this job. Ten years writing Java and Spring backends: distributed services, message queues, half a dozen data stores, and a lot of time spent working out why something was slow. Redis in February 2024 was my first move into pre-sales, and the useful part turns out to be having been the person on the other side of the table.
